Standard Doula Package Fee discussed at first free consultation
2-3 Prenatal Appointments
These are to get to know you and your wishes for your birth, along with any complications, preferences, etc. We will also build your birth plan, if you wish. We will have a consultation first, to see if I am the right doula for you, and it is always free. It may be done in person or over the phone, or if you prefer, can be done via e-mail.
For your appointments, we will get to know each other (it's important to be comfortable with the people you choose to have present while you are in labor!), we will build a "birth plan" or list of birth wishes, we will discuss pain management and different decisions and interventions in labor. We will also discuss all of your questions and concerns.
1 Postnatal Appointment
This is to check up on you, your baby and your family and to see how you are all doing. This appointment is also when you will receive your keepsake birth story (a gift from me to you) and where we can do footprints if requested.
If you would like more than 1 postnatal appointment (postpartum support), I offer postpartum doula services as well, which you can find further down on this page.
Up until 37 weeks, you may text or email at any time, but may only call between 9am and midnight unless you are in labor or have an emergency. Calling and texting are best, as it may take up to 24 hours to reply by email. You may text at any time of night and if it's after midnight, I will answer after 9am unless I am still awake. After 37 weeks, you can call or text at any time. If you are, or believe you are in labor, you must call (not text or email) to ensure that I know you are in labor and can get to you in a timely manner!
Support Through Labor & Delivery
I offer physical and emotional support through labor and delivery. This includes a range of things, from non-medicinal pain management techniques to simply getting a cup of ice chips or a snack for you or a coffee for your partner. I can also show your partner techniques to be more involved in the birth process, as well as help give you both peace of mind. Doulas aren't just for mamas who go unmedicated! I can help even if you decide to get an epidural or IV medication, with techniques to encourage dilation, help you relax, and help you change position.
I've grown up around breastfeeding, and I've breastfed four babies and have done much research. I've helped many friends and clients have a successful breastfeeding relationship! I can help with latch issues, nursing positions, supply issues, etc. if you choose to nurse.
I can also refer you to your local breastfeeding counselors/lactation consultants, and I am working on my breastfeeding counselor certification through Childbirth International.
If they are not done in the hospital or at a home birth.
Keepsake Hand-Written Birth Story
This will be received at your postpartum appointment.
Virtual Doula Services Flat Rate: $200
Three Prenatal Appointments via Skype
These are to get to know you and your birth wishes, along with previous birth history. The first appointment is a consultation to be sure I am the right doula for you prior to hiring me, and the consultation is free. The consultation can be done over Skype, over the phone, or through e-mail, depending on your preference.
One Postnatal Appointment
This appointment is to check on you and baby, see how you are adjusting, and help answer any questions you may have. This appointment can be done either over Skype or over the phone.
Phone/Skype Support Through Labor and Delivery
I will be available by phone or Skype for the duration of your labor and delivery to help with any questions you or your partner may have.

Postpartum Doula Services Rate: $20-$25 per hour
*I do not yet have my postpartum doula certification, but I am working on it through Childbirth International.*
Have you ever heard of the "fourth trimester"? The fourth trimester is the first 3 months of baby's life- and there are many changes in this time! From adjusting to life outside the womb (and for you, life as a new mom, or life as mom to another baby), to all the changes happening in your newborn's growth and development- it's a lot to take in! I can provide emotional support during this time to help.
Postpartum doulas are trained to provide evidence based information and support. I can provide help with breast or bottle feeding, burping, nursing positions, soothing techniques., and much more.
Keeping up with the house is hard work with a newborn! I can help with light meal prep, cooking, laundry, dishes, and light cleaning, to ease the burden of housework and give you more time to snuggle and bond with baby.
Older siblings an have a hard time adjusting to their new sibling. I can help them get used to having a sibling, be more involved with him or her, and see all the bright sides to being a big brother or sister! It's an adjustment period for everyone, but that adjustment can seem so much bigger when you're so little.
Belly Casting - $30
This is an optional service. It is a wonderful way to preserve the memory of being pregnant. You can leave them plain, you can paint them, and they are easy to display. I have one myself!
